Sunday August 18th
The All Japan Karate Competition Day2
The competitor who qualified yesterday can compete in Budokan.
Budokan is a holy ground of martial arts in Japan.

In this day, Kata and Kumite is in the same place. There are mats for kumite, no mats for kata. (why…)
Six people from our dojo tried kata game.
Their result was like best 8 or 16.
Generally, the result is not bad, however they were not satisfied it because their goal was higher than expected.
I watched both kata and kumite games, and that was very high level.
I thought I could not win even when I was an university student.
(in that time, I was the strongest ever. Just in my opinion though. haha)
Normally, opening ceremony is held in the beginning of a competition but in this comp, it is in the afternoon in the second day.
After Sensei’s greeting, we had time for awards for the good player and athlete’s oath of fair play.
Then, Ken Nishimura ,who is representative for Japan and has No.1 place for kumite in the world greeted as a guest.

It was not allowed to take a picture with him.
I wanted to take photo…
In the ceremony, a highlight is ‘Enbu.’ (Enbu means demonstration)
Mainly, elementary school and high school students do this demonstration.
Everyone do same thing at the same time. It was spectacular.
There are more than 200 hundred people.

We could watch thrust and Pinan kata.
Teacher said number and another teacher beat Japanese drum so the enbu was solemn sight.
After ceremony, the games continued until 7:00pm.
Long long day was done.

Next year, this competition will be held in Nagoya.
Thanks to this comp, I really would like to compete next time in Nagoya.
I need to build up my body. lol
See you!!
