I wrote about karate competition in this blog. Some competitors from NZ joined the comp.
They connected to a dojo in Japan so they may compete in it.
Actually, I know the NZ team members. We are friend.
When I went to NZ, I practiced with them in their dojo in Hamilton, NZ.
We hadn’t known each other at that time, however, they were willing to accept me and practice for 2 days.

A family accommodated me for a night, guided in the city, and had dinner with me.
I never forget this memory. That’s why I love traveling.
In this time, NZ team stayed in Japan for 2 weeks.
The first half of the trip is in Osaka, the last half of the trip is in Tokyo.
Osaka is near from Nagoya, so we traveled together there.
My friend in our dojo went on sightseeing with me.
They were staying in Osaka-ko so we gather in LegoLand near Kaiyukan which is famous an aquarium in Osaka.

There are many good foods in Osaka so we ate Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki…
They wanted to go to Osaka castle. We dropped by some place on the way to the castle.
It took a long time. Because many nice places in Osaka:)

I was happy they enjoyed the trip.
At night, we were in Doutonbori which is also famous place in Osaka.
We had dinner in Japanese restaurant that it is said “Izakaya” in Japanese.
I explained the food menu in English. That was tough but good experience.
I hope more English menu in Japanese restaurant for people from abroad.

Our train time approached so I parted from them.
After this trip, we met in the competition again.
Since they finally came from New Zealand, I wanted our dojo children to communicate with NZ team children.
Children and I talked to children from NZ in between.
Japanese children was shy but they tried to say “My name is….”
They communicated with smile each other. The international exchange was successful.

The experience is so nice to them because Japanese kids could be exposed to English.
I’m glad if they remember this memory someday.
It is great to have a relationship with people from another country through the common things, ‘Karate.’
I would like to interact people in the world.

See you, my friends from NZ.
Otsukaresama!
Let’s practice together again someday!
See you!!
